Second sense?
editHi John. An anon added Verkürzungszeichen n as a translation of breve (“semicircular diacritical mark”); is this word indeed used in that sense in your experience? — I.S.M.E.T.A. 09:38, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- @I'm so meta even this acronym: I've seen some evidence of this. When I not at work, I'll see whether I can't rustle up some quotes. I also have found a quote that seems to indicate the meaning staccato mark, but I may be misreading it. —JohnC5 12:05, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- @JohnC5: Cool, thanks. In that case, I shan't remove the translation from breve. — I.S.M.E.T.A. 16:31, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- @I'm so meta even this acronym: That took a bit, but now it's done. Would you like to check over my citation method (I don't do this very often)? —JohnC5 22:26, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
- @JohnC5: Thank you very much. Checking done. BTW, I assume you meant to write “breve (diacritic)”, not “breve (punctuation)”, yes? — I.S.M.E.T.A. 23:58, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
- @I'm so meta even this acronym: yes, yes, yes. —JohnC5 02:46, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
- @JohnC5: Thanks for the rather extensive work you put into researching this. — I.S.M.E.T.A. 02:51, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
- @I'm so meta even this acronym: I sometimes become somewhat overzealous about comprehensiveness... —JohnC5 02:55, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
- @JohnC5: That, Sir, is a most invaluable trait in a lexicographer! — I.S.M.E.T.A. 11:03, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
