etymology

We are saying it means to lead someone astray. See steer#Noun. In other words, it's not a dated expression referring to farm animals as is so often assumed. I've read this somewhere else, too, but I'd like to find where it was before I add the information to our etymology section, just in case it turns out we are mistaken. —Soap— 06:49, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
