Talk:busman's holiday

That explanation down the bottom seems a bit stupid - its not doing the *same* thing its a similar thing. Not sure how to word it (eg they ride the bus versus drive the bus). — This unsigned comment was added by 121.44.127.226 (talk) at 01:40, 9 October 2008.

Originally buses were horse drawn. So the bus driver would take the holiday on the bus so as to be close to their horses. Don't have a source though. :/ --Sodoherty (talk) 09:14, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

My understanding is the same as Sodoherty above, it is not taking time off doing much the same as ones usual work but returning to your place of work while on holiday to ensure that stock is well treated (otherwise it could be any career path). LessHeard vanU (talk) 16:11, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
