Heraldry, "Having the tail hanging down." I can't find uses. The OED has one cite of non-heraldic use which they consider a nonce; they mention heraldic use but give no cites of use. Some works seem to equate declinant to reclinant instead. declivant, defined as a synonym of declinant in heraldry, seems to be attested, but in taxonomic rather than heraldic writing, so changes may be needed there. - -sche (discuss) 20:54, 5 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
