It is an empirical question, not one that can be argued from principles. If it attestably meets tests for being an adjective, like those in Appendix:English adjectives, then the sense and PoS stays. I don't know of any legitimate way to short-circuit a factual question by voting (to which RfD has been reduced, pathetically), other that "widespread use", which I personally would object to.
