Talk:fio

I added a note that forms of the Latin fio have a long i except when the i is followed by er or en. I hope this observation is 1. correct and 2. useful. (The usual rule in a Latin, having only a few exceptions, is that when two vowels are adjacent within a word the first is short.) Wordiesmith (talk) 10:21, 13 September 2021 (UTC)

Gerund

I am aware that the gerund of fīō is not used, perhaps not even attested once. Though, regarding the quantity of its i, I wonder whether it should rather be long than short, considering fiendum would in theory trace back to fiundum which word most likely would have a long i.
