Suspicion over the etymology
editIs forevermore truely from a blend of forever + evermore? I suspect this. Given that evermore itself is an independent word, the more likely etymon should be for + evermore, and this looks sound too. Furthermore, we have another phrase, for evermore, which illustrates my point.
