The word idromele is not Italian. It comes from the words Ύδωρ (idor) + Μέλι (meli)which are Greek words. Ύδωρ means water and Μέλι means honey in Greek (honey among other things). Both of these words make the word Υδρόμελο which means water-honey. The word Idromelo is in fact a latinized (in characters) version of Υδρόμελο.

Thus I have added the Greek etymology of the word.

Please note that this is about the linguistic origin of the word and not about the history of Idromelo.
