I can find some mentions of jail lock as a name for Scandinavian lock which seems to have been a particular kind of lock, but I can't find enough uses to attest to the term in an idiomatic sense. The entry was taken from Webster 1913, as are the other lemmings' entries to be found at jail lock”, in OneLook Dictionary Search.. DCDuring TALK 15:26, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm also having trouble finding out what it is that makes a Scandinavian lock a distinct thing, even at Google Images. DCDuring TALK 15:33, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
It is difficult to find quotes that clearly mean something other than a lock on a jail door, but I think I have found enough. I also added a picture. Kiwima (talk) 02:19, 1 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
The 1887 and 1927 citations look good, and I suppose the 2009 citation is acceptable and makes this RFV-passed. The 2013 citation looks more like "Scandinavian Jail Lock". The 2007 citation is a bit mention-y. - -sche (discuss) 19:49, 17 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
