What does "makan" mean in this context? Some searching suggests that it is an Indonesian work often associated with "kata". I would like to add a definition for the Japanese word "kata", as used in English in martial arts and manufacturing, but I guess I need to figure out how to do justice to the current placement of "makan" (or if I can't make heads or tails of it, eliminate it and hope someone stops by who can restore it with some more explicit context). Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've eliminated it for now. -- Ortonmc 22:24, 16 Dec 2003 (UTC)
