Talk:killer application

As far as I know, "killer app" is the original and usual form. "killer application", if it is used at all, is a back formation.

  • killer app first used on Google Groups on 19 jul 1989, where it currently gets 1,1981 hits. On Google Web it gets 1,730,000 hits.
  • killer application first used on Google Groups on 21 abr 1990, where it currently gets 8,630 hits. On Google Web it gets 640,000 hits.

The short form is about 1 year older and almost 3 times more popular. Both terms should have full articles or if a redirect is used, it should be from the long form to the short form. — Hippietrail 22:49, 13 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Isn't this just (deprecated template usage) killer + (deprecated template usage) application? Mglovesfun (talk) 10:51, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Return to "killer application" page.
