Talk:leader

Etymology of leader edit
Thought there should be a note of the obvious link in origin to the word for 'people.' That is the Old English word "lēode." PametUGlavu (talk) 01:58, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- Leader is from the verb lead, from Proto-Indo-European *lAudh- (“to lead”). The word leode is from Proto-Indo-European *leudh- (“to grow upward”). The two do not have the same origin and are not related. —Stephen (Talk) 06:09, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
