Talk:mega
This article is mixed up. Is it a prefix or an adjective? Isn't the Greek original "megalos"? The definition doesn't make sense.
- Tidied. Eytmology still to be sorted out. -- Paul G 07:56, 14 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Suggest marking compounds according to the sense of the prefix. (eg, "megaton" (1), "megabyte" (2)) -- Paul G 07:56, 14 Jan 2004 (UTC)
I suspect that many of the colloquial meanings are nonce words, trademarks or rare and should be marked as such; some might not belong in Wikipedia and should be removed. Just my opinion. -- Paul G 07:56, 14 Jan 2004 (UTC)
I thought the official names for M in computer terms was mibi, kibi, etc. I don't exactly like them and it doesn't seem like anyone uses or adopts them... Polyglot 20:48, 15 Jan 2004 (UTC)
