Can the author include a citation for the verb in the third bullet being analyzed as a lexical middle? The example in the third bullet is not a middle by any definition that I'm aware of. "Break" here is instantiating the causative/inchoative alternation. A reliable diagnostic for middles in English is that they entail habitual aspect, which the example in the third bullet doesn't have. So while "The window breaks easily" is a middle construction, "The window broke" isn't. Kdtbhl (talk) 19:02, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
Are constructions such as me thinks, or in German, mich dünket/mich träumt, etc. examples of middle voice? Eric Schiefelbein (talk) 20:00, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
What are the differences between middle voice vs mediopassive? It'd be great to add a brief mention to them --Backinstadiums (talk) 11:03, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
- As by middle voice#Synonyms and mediopassive voice#Synonyms, the terms have the same meaning, they are synonymous. --Hamator (talk) 11:20, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
