@Carl Francis How could you know the Tagalog is borrowed from the Cebuano? The Austronesian Comparative Dictionary says it derives from a reconstructed Proto-Malayo-Polynesian word, and it independently derived from that word. Are there any historical facts or sources to back this up? TagaSanPedroAko (talk) 02:32, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Because it's a native Visayan boat, just like most boats mentioned in Philippine history. And you seem to take reconstructions like it's always accurate. - Please avoid such overtly ethnocentric or regionalist stuff. This is is a wiki, and making attacks on the person based on ethnicity or language is completely bad faith. It is true that there is resentment by Cebuanos to Tagalog culture and language, but remember, that has no room in this wiki.
