Etymology

I guessed that the route was from stog to stoggy and thence to the adjective stodgy, with verb and noun coming later, but I admit that this is only a guess, and would be an unusual route. Does anyone have the resources to check? Dbfirs 07:17, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
