Talk:wannigan

The dialectal (and likely obsolete) American phrase "to run the wangan", meaning "to take a loaded boat down a river", derives from this word.

1908, Holman Day, The "Code" in Larrigan Land, published in Everybody's Magazine, volume 18, page 366:
