I see you raised the status of "watershrew" from a redirect page to an alternative spelling. Although it was originally my entry, I have serious doubts about the existence of the single-word form watershrew in English. At least I could not find it in any of the web dictionaries that I frequently use, nor in my paper dictionaries. I picked the single-word version in a Finnish book "Kotimaan luonto-opas", which gives the English translations for most common species as additional information. Unless you really know that the spelling "watershrew" exists, I would recommend to return the page to a redirect. Hekaheka 18:32, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wiktionary almost always prefers stub entries to redirects - if it doesn't meet the WT:CFI it should probably be deleted entirely. However we only need three durably archived examples of use to pass the CFI, and a quick check of google books shows at least that many: [1]. I've marked it as rare. OK: As additional information, I did a simple google search for "watershrew" and got 156 hits, whereas "water shrew" yielded 92.200 hits, Hekaheka 09:10, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
