Usage edit

This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections, and on talk pages, to cite Albert Marie Victor Barrère and Charles Godfrey Leland's A Dictionary of Slang, Jargon & Cant (1889–1890, two volumes).

Parameters edit

The template takes the following optional parameters:

|entry= – the entry in the work to be cited. If this parameter is omitted, the template uses the name of the Wiktionary entry.
|1= or |volume= – the template tries to determine the volume (I or II) of the work cited based on the entry. If it is incorrectly identifying the volume, manually specify the volume of the work cited, either |volume=I (for letters A–K) or |volume=II (L–Z). Arabic or Roman numerals may be used.
|2=, |page= or |pages= – the page number(s) of the work cited. Use |pages= for a range of pages, and separate the first and last page numbers of the range with an en dash, like this: "110–111".
|3=, |text=, or |passage= – a passage quoted from the work.
|nodot= – by default, the template adds a full stop (period) at the end of the citation. To suppress this punctuation, use |nodot=1 or |nodot=yes.
