Languages, they are beautiful. They aren't just a tool of communication - each language reflects attitudes, viewpoints and traditions - words have different connotations and origins, and little can be translated directly from one language to another. Every culture has a unique way of thinking and of interpreting the world, and this forms our identity! It is how we see the world!

As Max Weber put it, language is a technique for mastering the reality around us. Local languages and dialects, they had mastered the everyday world of our experience, personified it with details, coped with it. They gave us a unique way of seeing it. Different from the other ones. And what happens if this language disappears, get edged out by something more powerful or prestigious?

If this happens, then the familiar becomes alien; new speech and new words, they no longer permit the same easy and immediate participation in situations that time and habit made so familiar. It causes a generational trauma, as instead of becoming an heir of a centuries-long treasure of knowledge and particular way of life, one gets a haunting sense of deprivaton instead, enforced inferiority, the loss of precious heritage to a hegemon that we now have to assimilate ourselves to.
