These are the rules concerning transliteration in Proto-Norse entries.
Proto-Norse was written with runes, specifically with the Elder Futhark. These are transliterated on Wiktionary as follows:

Some notes and additional rules:
- When transliterating runic text, bold type is used.[1]
- Macrons are written above vowels if they are long.
- Apart from their regular values, vowels can also be svarabhakti vowels. In this case, they are transliterated as superscript letters.
