Hi, I'm Moondust2365. I'm a Filipino senior high school student living in Ilagan City, Isabela.

Cultural facts edit

Ethnicity edit

As far as I'm aware, I'm 7/8 Ibanag and 1/8 Southern Chinese. I'm not certain tho, since I haven't taken a DNA test yet.

I'm currently fluent in two languages, conversational in two more (with one still being learned), and barely understanding one more (hopefully, I'll learn it in the future).

Native Languages edit

I'm a native speaker of both Tagalog and English. I speak both American and Philippine English (although I'm not sure what accent I have specifically). The Tagalog I speak is a mix of the Manila dialect (specifically from Makati City) and the Isabela dialect (specifically that of Santa Maria and that of Ilagan City).

English edit

My English, while mainly a mix of American and Philippine English, also has influences from other English dialects given the time I've spent on the internet. If it is a real dialect, then I also speak Internet English. I learned Philippine English mainly through everyday life but also through school. I learned American English through various forms of media (cartoons, movies, YouTube videos, etc.).

Tagalog edit

I learned Tagalog through everyday speech. Since my parents are from Isabela, I sometimes use words from Ilocano and Ibanag (mainly Ibanag). The way I speak Tagalog is also influenced by where I grew up, Metro Manila. While I grew up in Makati City, there may have been some influence from the Tagalog of Pateros since I went to school there. Given the proximity of Makati and Pateros, any difference is probably negligible enough. I mainly speak Taglish (a mix of Tagalog and English) but I do speak "pure" Tagalog from time to time, mainly colloquial Tagalog.

Filipino edit

I also speak Filipino (Standardized Tagalog), but rarely, usually only at school, tho even then, my speech tends to be more colloquial. Still, it seems that I know how to speak formal Filipino better than most of my fellow students. However, I'm more proficient at writing Filipino since speaking tends to lend itself more to non-standardized Tagalog.

Non-Native Languages edit

Ibanag edit

I know enough Ibanag to understand and have a basic conversation or read text messages and news. I learned it during my stay in Santa Maria, so I mainly speak their variant of Ibanag, but by now, there are influences from the Ilagan variant, even if I mainly speak Tagalog here. From what I've learned, the Santa Maria dialect is somewhere between those of Tuguegarao City and Ilagan City.

Japanese edit

I'm currently learning Japanese. It's only good enough for fairly basic conversations, but I'm at least able to introduce myself and chat to some extent. I already know Hiragana, Katakana, and some Kanji, tho there are various kana and kanji characters that I wouldn't be able to write on the spot, only read.

Spanish edit

I know a small amount of Spanish. Mainly vocabulary, thanks to knowing Tagalog and Ibanag. I can introduce myself to an extent and understand certain sentences and paragraphs, but that's it.

Fandoms edit

I'm part of many fandoms, mainly those of Western and Eastern media, among others.

Brony/MLP Fandom edit

The username I use, Moondust2365 comes from the name of my ponysona (MLP persona), Moondust Symphony.
