Well, Omikron here.

I'm a 31 year old male from the Netherlands. Quite fluent in English, as many of my fellow countrymen. Luckily I don't tend to have such a strong Dutch accent as a lot of them seem to have :P Obviously then I am also well-versed in Dutch. In my neck of the woods of Europe we tend to also get exposure to German and French, although I really haven't kept those up so I'm not likely to be active in those. Basic German I'll be able to read, but French will be considerately tougher.

Currently I'm learning the Japanese language for personal interests and use and will continue to use wiktionary pages to look up Kanji definitions. I'm fairly critical as well as (perhaps a little overly) detailed, so I'll be keeping a sharp lookout for anomalies as far as I can spot them.

As my study of Japanese is more centred towards reading and theoretical, I'm not focussing on "What's your name?", "Where are you from?" and "Which way to the Tokyo trainstation?" Although I can construct some basic sentences.

My current level consists of Katakana script, Hiragana script and Kanji mostly of the 1st Jouyou grade (1st grade 'completed' and some higher level characters here and there)

Should you come across any of my edits or comments, please assume my best intentions, proper fact checking and logical reasoning. While my manners can come across as brusque at times, I generally mean well and most likely am trying to offer an opposing viewpoint to balance out lop-sided opinions. Honesty, factuality and an open mind are qualities I view as essential, especially in an Wiktionary/Wikipedia environment. As such, I will personally almost never assume to be the be-all and end-all of information at any time and will be open to logical and reasonable arguments and critiques.

A little bit of my hobbies, for a some background I guess, I've been a gamer since well before it hit any mainstream, mostly consoles, beginning with the good old NES and nowadays mostly Xbox. I'll list Final Fantasy as my previous top franchise, before it (sadly) went to shit. I keep attempting to play my electric guitar, am mostly into Hardrock/Metal but I can certainly enjoy some Blues at times, as well as many other musical styles. Lately I've been trying to get back into Anime en Manga after a hiatus, also started that originally before everyone and their brother were into it here and the only things you could get locally were Akira and The Guyver. Since then I've found a favourite in Fullmetal Alchemist, which I can strongly recommend to just about anyone, but am on the lookout for newer stuff with a <100% saturation of teenagers screaming and fighting. I also love me some Star Trek. Probably quite a lot more than casual, although I don't consider myself a true Trekkie.

Well, that's about it, thanks for stopping by.
