Hello! I'm currently interested in the etymology of Sanskrit words, particularly those traceable back to PIE. I'm also interested in computational or "brute force" approaches to etymology - for example, if given cognates in several IE families, can a program faithfully reconstruct the root lemma? If given cognates in some IE families, can a program suggest the form of a cognate in another IE family (based solely on phonology)? While there are certainly caveats to this approach, it follows from the implications of the Neogrammarian Hypothesis.
On Wiktionary, my current goal is to create pages for PIE roots which are currently missing, especially when those roots have Sanskrit derivatives.
