Special character box under search field not appearing

I haven't had this for some time. I have had problems with other items in per-browser preferences, but they seem OK and had to do either with global JS problems or with my own custom JS.

Is this feature supposed to be available? Are there known incompatabilities? DCDuring TALK 23:45, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

Constantly resetting

I keep turning off the Wiktionary:Per-browser preferences and they keep turning on again. Really really annoying. Can someone please fix this? Or is there something I could put in my common.js to permanently turn off the settings? Also posted in grease pit. — Eru·tuon 22:39, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
