I don't think there's a way to delete an account. I can rename it to something else, but I'm not sure what good that would do in terms of freeing up the name. If you'd like to note somewhere (such as your user or talk page) that this name is available, it'll help us remember if anyone does ask. Otherwise, don't worry about it.
