Rationale:
Currently, entries are split into various types of derivations. The "derived terms" categories are a catch-all for all types of derivations. If this vote passes, readers will be able to navigate only the "derived terms" to see all derived terms at once, as opposed to having to check multiple categories for the relationship between two languages.
For context, below are some current derivation categories, with the number of entries as of October 8, 2016. It may be argued that many entries are incorrectly categorized and should be moved into "inherited" or "borrowed" categories instead of "derived". If this vote passes, all "derived from" categories will include borrowed and inherited terms.
- Category:English terms derived from French contains 5,766 entries
- Category:English terms borrowed from French contains 1,456 entries
- Category:English terms derived from Japanese contains 1,027 entries
- Category:English terms borrowed from Japanese contains 123 entries
- Category:English terms derived from Old English contains 4,595 entries
- Category:English terms borrowed from Old English contains 12 entries
- Category:English terms inherited from Old English contains 507 entries
