Task: Converting "See also: [[link]]" and most of its variants into "{{see|link}}". Testing has been going on and is still going on, results up to now error-free. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] etc.

  4. I support this but I'd really like to see the regular expressions you plan to use. I did some work in the same area for an upcoming feature I call "soft formatting templates". I found a number of variations including a colon before "See also" or not, a colon after or not, the whole line italicized or just "See also", the list of words bolded or not, the last item in the list having an "and" before it, and uses of the {{see}} template on subsequent lines from before it could handle multiple parameters. Good luck. — Hippietrail 19:34, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Since I had anticipated such desires, I posted the regex I'm currently testing at the bot's userpage. Like said, up till now error-free with replace.py. I'm first going to run through all the "see also"s that only take one parameter, going upwards therefrom with other regexes. Disclaimer: I'm far from a programming/python/regex expert, so suggestions are always welcome. — Vildricianus 19:42, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
