Just as an example, total is translated as amount -> totale and sum -> somma, when instead totale is actually a better translation for total (sum). In the other way round, total(amount) should have been translated totale, ammontare. And I am seeing this in quite a few translations. So, I think that the policy should clarify that the translation should be of the starting word in that particular meaning, not of the words used to define the specific meaning. Maybe also the way meanings are indicated should be changed, as they have apparently misled many translators. Sergio.ballestrero 09:29, 7 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
