aknātsa

Tocharian BEdit

EtymologyEdit

From Proto-Tocharian *āknātsā, probably corresponding to a Proto-Indo-European root *ṇ-ǵnō-tyḤ < *ṇ-ǵneh₃-to-, *ṇ-ǵneh₃-tih₂, from *ǵneh₃- ‎(know), deriving its meaning from that of "ignorant". Compare Sanskrit अज्ञात ‎(ájñāta) ("unknown"), Latin ignotus ‎(unknown, also ignorant), Ancient Greek ἄγνωτος ‎(ágnōtos, unknown, also ignorant). Compare Tocharian A āknats.
