From translingual Aubrieta, the name of the taxonomic genus, which was itself named in honor of Claude Aubriet.

- A creeping perennial plant native to southeastern Europe, Aubrieta deltoidea, grown as a groundcover and in rock gardens for its dense foliage and purple, pink or white flowers.
