Representing a hypothetical Ancient Greek etymon of the form *ἀξιογένεσις (*axiogénesis, generation according to value), coined from the extant roots ἀξία (axía, worth, value, also estimate of [a thing’s] worth) +‎ γένεσις (génesis, production, generation, coming into being, creation, formation, origination).

  1. (philosophy) A form of metaphysical optimism in which the state of affairs actually obtains which is the one most favourable (of all possible states of affairs) to the development of intelligence and the interests of intelligent beings.
  2. (cosmogony) A mechanism in which the cosmological excess of baryons over antibaryons is generated from the rotation of the QCD axion.
