böğürtlen
Turkish
editEtymology
editInherited from Ottoman Turkish بوگرتلن[1] or بوگورتلن (büyürtlen, “blackberry, rubus fruticosus”),[2] from Proto-Turkic *bürülgen. According to Nişanyan, this is a borrowing from Proto-Mongolic *bögeldirgen or *böldirgene, whereas Starostin posits that Mongolian бөөрөлзгөнө (böörölzgönö, “blackberry, raspberry”) might be of Turkic origin.[3][4]
