Etymology

Borrowed from Hindustani برفی / बर्फ़ी (barfī), compound of बर्फ़ (barf, “ice”) (from Persian برف (barf), Middle Persian 𐭥𐭯𐭫 (ʿpl /⁠wafr⁠/)) + -ई (-ī).
