Etymology edit

From Old Swedish beroren, from Middle Low German beroren, ultimately from Proto-Germanic *bi- (be-), *hrōzijaną (to stir), equivalent to be- +‎ röra. Cognate with Danish berøre, Norwegian Bokmål berøre, German berühren and Dutch beroeren.
