Compound of bokstav (“letter”) + -s- + kombination (“combination”).

- A letter combination; a sequence of letters in a certain order (but does normally not refer to words).
- (colloquial) A collective term about certain diagnoses that are referred to by abbreviations: ADHD, ADD, ASD, DAMP.
- Jag tror hon har någon bokstavskombination.
- I believe she has a neurodevelopmental disorder.
- (literally, “I believe she has some letter combination.”)
Usage notes edit
- In the strictest sense, all words are indeed bokstavskombinationer (“letter combinations”). However; most often the term refers to more unstructured sequences of letters, such as abbreviations or codes.
