Pseudo-Hispanism, derived from carwasher +‎ Spanish -ero.

Noun edit

carwashero (plural carwasheros)

  1. A carwasher, especially one who has immigrated to the United States from a Latin American country.
A decade ago, it was common for these so-called carwasheros, many of whom are illegal immigrants from Mexico and Latin America, to earn $3 per hour plus tips, with no extra pay for overtime.
