(UK, informal) To finish up or to tidy up, as in the tie up a sail on a sailing boat, the clew being a part of the structure holding the sail. Comes from the nautical term "clew".

Usage notes

Often used to describe the last bits of a task about to be done, as in "I'm just clewing up". Or once done, one can say, "I'm all clewed up."
Not to be confused with the American usage of the term "clued up", which means to have been filled in on some knowledge or facts ("clues") about something.
