Etymology

edit

Uncertain; compare Romanian desghina, desghin, older variant of dezbina. Possibly from a Vulgar Latin *disglutinō, from Latin glutinō, or *disglinō, from Ancient Greek γλίνη (glínē, tail), although these etymologies are not certain. The Daco-Romanian form may also indicate the possibility of a root *disbinō from bīnī, although this would not work with the Aromanian.

Verb

edit

dizgljin first-singular present indicative (past participle dizgljinatã)

  1. to detach, separate, divide (e.g. branches, etc.)
