doxographer
English
editEtymology
editBorrowed from New Latin doxographus, itself coined by German classicist Hermann Diels in 1879 from Ancient Greek δόξα (dóxa, “opinion, belief”) + -γράφος (-gráphos, “writer”), originally in reference specifically to the tradition stemming from Theophrastus, + -er. By surface analysis, doxography + -er.
