glaucometer (plural glaucometers)

  1. A device for measuring the percentage of sugar in a fluid by means of specific gravity; gleucometer.
    • 1972, Tom N. Cornsweet, Hewitt Crane, Experimental Study of Visual Accommodation, page 5:
      Such circuits were actually built and verified in another device, referred to as a glaucometer or retinal topograph, being developed at Stanford Research Institute. This instrument is a direct offshoot of the basic optometer scheme.
    • 2003, The Rotarian, page 42:
      A glaucometer, blood sugar testing equipment, and a folding wheelchair have also been donated to a leprosy hospital. Thanks to club grants, 81 people affected by leprosy have received operations.
