Etymology edit
Inherited from Ottoman Turkish خوشمریم (ḫoşmerim, “a dish of fresh milk milked on sour, (in towns) a dish of cream-cheese stirred over a fire with flour, sugar or honey”)[1] or خوشمرم (ḫoşmerem), from Persian خوش (xoš, “happy, sweet”) + مرم (maram, “clotted cream”).[2]
