  • In Argentina, where abortion is legal on request, “interrupción voluntaria del embarazo” (“IVE”) refers to the right to abortion with the request as the only requirement up to and including the 14th week of pregnancy, while “interrupción legal del embarazo” (“ILE”) refers to the right to abortion if the life or health of the pregnant woman or person is in danger, or if the pregnancy is the result of rape, including after the 14th week of pregnancy.[1]
