Etymology

Cognate to Proto-Mon-Khmer *(c)ŋajʔ (“far”), whence Khmer ឆ្ងាយ (chngaay), Chong [tʰŋɯ̤əˀj], Mon ဇ္ၚဲ, Koho ngae and Vietnamese ngái.
