By surface analysis, Katrin +‎ plommon. Cognate of German Katharinenpflaume, French prune Sainte Catherine (Sainte-Catherine plum). Likely named after Catherine of Alexandria (or possibly some other saint named "Catherine"), but the exact reason is unclear.
