Etymology edit

From Old Swedish kræsa (to provide with food and drink), related to krås. Possibly cognate with Ancient Greek γράω (gráō, to gnaw; eat) and Sanskrit ग्रसति (grasati, to devour). Compare Danish kræsen, Icelandic kræsinn.
