EtymologyEdit

From Ottoman Turkish لبلبی(leblebi, roasted chickpea; jumbled or mashed chickpea) and Modern Turkish leblebi from Arabic لَبْلَابِيّ(lablābiyy, chickpea stew), and directly from Arabic لَبْلَابِيّ(lablābiyy) for Arabic dishes but then more properly spelled lablabi.
