1. A kiln for drying barley etc., after it has been steeped and germinated.
   • 1961 February, D. Bertram, “The lines to Wetherby and their traffic”, in Trains Illustrated, page 100:

     Leaving Tadcaster, the line passes between large maltkilns, to which there is rail access, then swings north-westward again through the open country of the Wharfe valley towards Newton Kyme, 6¾ miles from Church Fenton.
