  1. (medicine) Obsolete form of maturate.
    • 1873, Alvin Wood Chase, Dr. Chase's Family Physician, Farrier, Bee-keeper, and Second Receipt Book, page 457:
      Apply the tincture 2, or 3 times daily, and they will often heal without matterating if the animal is in a good condition of health.
