Verb edit

mouveter

  1. (uncommon, dialectal, Picardy) to budge
    • 1946, Yves Gandon, Le métier d'homme:
Firmin souffrait d’un lumbago; il ne pouvait plus «mouveter», le pauvre !
(please add an English translation of this quotation)
  2. Alternative form of moufter

Conjugation edit

This verb is conjugated like parler, except the -e- /ə/ of the second-to-last syllable becomes -è- /ɛ/ when the next vowel is a silent or schwa -e-, as in the third-person singular present indicative il mouvète and the third-person singular future indicative il mouvètera.
